Overview
The presence of countless snowy mountains, moraines, glaciers, and Sherpa Villages has made this region, Solukhumbu, also known as the Khumbu region, a majestic destination. There are countless trekking routes in the region. The Gokyo Lake trek is one of the most popular treks in this region. It’s a very panoramic trek which can be an alternative for people who already traveled to Everest Base Camp. The trek initially begins with the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a beautiful village in the Khumbu region, and then the trekkers begin the journey by trekking through many villages, forest, hill and mountains. Usually, all the trekkers of this region acclimatize at Namche Bazar. After Namche Bazar, the trek continues toward Gokyo Valley, which will provide the scene of snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and alpine landscapes. The main view of this trek is Gokyo lake which is formed by a combination of many other lakes.
Also, some trekkers do Cho-la pass after reaching Gokyo valley and Gokyo lake which is as Gokyo Chola Pass Trek. The best time to visit this place is during the spring (March to May) and fall (September to November), when the weather is clear and mild. The trek requires a moderate level of physical fitness and acclimatization. So, it’s important to do the trek slowly and enjoy the trek.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
- Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

- Begin trekking towards Phakding (2,652m) following the Dudh Koshi River.
- Stay overnight at a teahouse in Phakding.
Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar
- Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m).
- Cross several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge.
- Reach Namche Bazaar, the main trading center and gateway to the Khumbu region.
- Overnight stay at a teahouse in Namche Bazaar.
Day 04: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
- Spend a day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.
- Explore the town, visit the local market, and enjoy panoramic views of mountains,
- including Everest, from Everest View Hotel.

Day 05: Namche Bazaar to Dole
- Continue the trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole (4,038m).

Day 06: Dole to Machhermo
- Trek from Dole to Machhermo (4,470m).

Day 07: Machhermo to Gokyo (First Lake)
- Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4,750m), the first lake of the Gokyo Lakes.

Day 08: Gokyo Ri Hike and Rest Day

- Spend the rest of the day resting and acclimatizing in Gokyo.

Day 09: Gokyo to Dole
- Trek back from Gokyo to Dole, retracing your steps.

Day 10: Dole to Namche Bazaar
- Continue the trek from Dole to Namche Bazaar.
- Descend through forests and cross suspension bridges.

Day 11: Namche Bazaar to Lukla
- Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla, the final leg of the trek.

Day 12: Fly to Kathmandu
- Take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.
