Everest Three High Pass Trek - Everest Region Trek Nepal

Everest Three High Pass Trek

Challenge yourself on the Everest Three High Pass Trek -crossing Renjo La, Cho La & Kongma La at 5,000m+. A thrilling 18-day Nepal Himalayan adventure from Kathmandu.

Overview

In Nepal's Khumbu region, the Everest Three High Pass Trek is a strenuous and thrilling trekking path that gives hikers a chance to experience the breathtaking Himalayan landscapes and cultures. The three high passes that hikers must cross along the way—Kongma La (5,535m), Cho La (5,420m), and Renjo La (5,345m)—are the reason the trek is named. Trekking through the Sherpa settlements of Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Dingboche usually begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The trek starts by traversing Kongma La's first pass, which provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers, after acclimating to the high altitude at Dingboche.

After reaching the settlement of Lobuche, hikers can continue on to Kala Patthar, which offers amazing views of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, and the Everest Base Camp. Following the visit to the base camp, the walk traverses Cho La's second pass, which can be difficult but provides breathtaking views of the surrounding glaciers and peaks. Renjo La, the trek's third and last pass, provides sweeping views of the Gokyo Valley and the neighbouring mountains. The journey culminates with a trip to the picturesque Gokyo Lakes, where hikers can take in the serene surroundings and breathtaking landscape.

Because trekkers will be traversing high mountain passes and walking for extended periods of time, the Everest Three High Pass Trek demands a high level of physical fitness, endurance, and altitude acclimatization. Through visits to monasteries and traditional Sherpa villages, the journey also provides an opportunity to discover the distinctive culture and customs of the Sherpa people. The Everest Three High Pass Trek is most enjoyable in the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when the weather is clear and pleasant and the scenery is breathtaking. All things considered, the journey is a once-in-a-lifetime event that gives hikers an opportunity to take in the Himalayas' natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and formidable challenges.
